Det er tiende august. Bens mor har fødselsdag snart, og Cecilie skal sende en gave til henne. Hun må ikke få den for seint. It’s August 10th. Ben’s mother will soon have birthday and Cecilie will send a present to her. She must not receive it too late.
Cecilie ringer på døra til Hans og Anne Olsen. Anne åpner. Cecilie rings the doorbell at Hans and Anne Olsen’s. Anne opens the door.
Cecilie: Hei! Jeg heter Cecilie Vidal. Jeg bor i huset ved siden av dere. Cecilie: Hi, my name is Cecilie Vidal. I live in the house next to you.
Anne: Hyggelig å hilse på deg! Jeg er Anne Olsen. Anne: Nice to meet you! I’m Anne Olsen.
C: Jeg må sende en pakke med posten. Er det et postkontor i nærheten? C: I have to send a parcel in the mail. Is there a post office nearby?
A: Ja, det er et postkontor i butikken. A: Yes, there is a post office at the store.

Mailbox

C: Hvilken butikk? C: Which store?
A: Matbua. A: Matbua (the grocery store)
C: Hvor er den? C: Where is it?
A: Den ligger rett ved veikrysset. A: It is just at the crossroad.

Direction downtown

C: Hvilket kryss mener du? C: Which crossroad do you mean?
A: Jeg mener lyskrysset ved bensinstasjonen. A: I mean the crossroad with traffic light near the gas station
C: Å ja. Tusen takk for hjelpen! C: Oh, yes. Thank you for your help!
A: Jeg skal straks kjøre i samme retning. Vil du kjøre med meg? A: I’m actually going to drive in the same direction. Do you want to drive with me?
C: Ja gjerne, så hyggelig av deg! Jeg skal bare hente pakken. C: Yes, I would like that. So kind of you! I just go and fetch the parcel.

Anne kjører Cecilie til Matbua. Det tar bare fem minutter. Anne drives Cecilie to (the grocery store) Matbua. It only takes five minutes.
Cecilie takker for turen. Snart er pakken på vei til Frankrike. Cecilie thanks for the ride. The parcel will soon be on its way to France.
