How have companies developed products using their external network? Learners are invited to find their own examples of successful partnerships.
There are lots of examples of companies that have developed products using their external network. You may already know of several. For example – the two companies Linux and Wikipedia are both open source..

To get the most from this activity, try and find a variety of examples from different industries.

Share your examples and try and identify four or five factors that you think have made this product successful.

The aim here is to help you work together to gain a broader appreciation of how companies can best use their networks to enhance their offering in the marketplace.
