The week ahead

In this article, we take a look forward to some of the material and discussions we'll be encountering in week 3 of Open Innovation.
Welcome back to Week 3.

We’ll get started by thinking about how open innovation can be implemented and measured – there can be significant differences depending on the approach and context for this. So far, we have spent a lot of time looking at product innovation, but this week we’ll also use an example from the healthcare sector to take a look at how open innovation can be applied to a service.

We then move on to consider the innovation of processes, with Professor Kiran Fernandes sharing some of his research in this area with us. Drawing all the themes of the last three weeks together, we’ll then start to think about how you can move to an open innovation model in your own setting. In particular, this week you’ll have the opportunity to work on your own approach to this as part of a peer-reviewed assignment. You will also have the opportunity to see how others approach this task and may well pick up some new ideas and insights as a result.
