Dynamics of Regional Cooperation and University-Centered Open Innovation Networks

Sybille Reichert is talking about dynamics of Regional Cooperation and University-Centered Open Innovation Networks.

In this concluding section, we look at the success factors of regional innovation ecosystems, which seek organisational, social and spatial coherence to foster connectivity and innovation dynamics across the triple helix partners in the innovation ecosystem.

Cultural values and dynamics are vital enablers of such success. Accordingly, for universities to act as motors and key orchestrators of regional innovation ecosystems, their own institutional culture has to develop high trust, enabling communicational culture, motivational leadership and the ability to develop joint agendas across organisational units and disciplinary boundaries.

Likewise, the openness of institutional boundaries between universities, companies and state agencies relies on cultural values and norms that favour collaborative approaches, celebrate team efforts to tackle larger challenges and promote trusting and engaging forms of communication.
