The following video focuses on the “verifiability”-aspect. It is not just about providing access to the data and the source code. Several studies showed that the analysis might still not be reproducible.

This means that if there is source code and data available, somebody needs to look at that and check whether the analysis is executable and generates the same results as reported in the paper. Asking the reviewers who evaluate the paper to do so is not an option since reviewing the paper is already a lot of work, and we cannot expect them to invest additional time. Also, they might not have the technical skills. Nevertheless, there are some clever concepts to tackle this issue.
