In this video, Sarah tells us all about the global opportunities that might be available to you at university. These might consist of a year of study or working abroad as part of your course, or a short term opportunity that is more focused, such as an intensive language course.

Students have, quite literally, a world of opportunities available to them if they know where to look – and university is a time when opportunities such as studying abroad can become a reality. Taking advantage of such opportunities can help you to:

  • Broaden your cultural and social perspectives
  • Stand out from the crowd (less than 8 per cent of UK students have studied abroad
  • Enhance your employability
  • Boost your self-confidence, independence and ambition
  • Conquer challenges, solve problems and discover new strengths and abilities
  • Develop your language and communication skills
  • Build up your personal and professional networks
