Top tips from this week:
Persuasive writing is concerned with getting someone else to believe or do something.
It’s not about telling them everything, but about selecting the most relevant information for your purposes and presenting it in the most effecting way.
This means you have to think about the reader: who they are, what’s important to them, what they are expecting.
Your writing is likely to be better if you have a good process, which moves you from gathering your ideas, to organising them, to presenting them to your reader.
The more conscious you are about why you are doing a particular bit of writing, the better that writing is likely to be.
