How has project management developed?

Project management could be said to date back as far as the Great Pyramid of Giza, which was completed in 2560BC. The diagram below shows some of the (more recent) key dates in the history of project management.

Explore the timeline – on it you should be able to identify some major organisations, methodologies and tools in project management.
