Week 4 Wrap-up

The wrap-up of the week summarised the learning in Week 4 and gives a taste of what is to come in Week 5.

Well done for reaching the end of Week 4. We hope that you have enjoyed the course so far and that you have been introduced to new ideas and ways of working for the protection and well-being of children.

In Week 4, we focused on adapting child protection programming for case management, alternative care and children in detention during COVID-19. We then moved on to consider the risks that the social service workforce may be exposed to and reflected upon some mitigation measures to ensure the safety and well-being of the workforce through the pandemic.

We have introduced content from a number of technical guidance notes on the protection of children during COVID-19. Hopefully this course has made it easier for you to access and navigate these resources.

Moving into Week 5, we will shift our focus to working with children during COVID-19. We will start the week with an overview of child participation in the pandemic and then reflect more on engaging with adolescents and children with disabilities. We are looking forward to our continued engagement through the final two weeks of the course.
