Week 5 Wrap-up

The wrap-up of the week summarizes the learning in Week 5 and gives a taste of what is to come in the final week of the course.

Well done for reaching the end of Week 5!

We hope that the course has been enjoyable and has introduced you to new ideas to support your work for children during IDOs such as COVID-19.

In Week 5, we focused on working with teams. We worked together to review challenges that members of the social services workforce may experience as well as mitigation measures to ensure their well-being during IDOs such as COVID-19. We considered key aspects of program management focusing on specific adjustments to management, monitoring, data collection and accountability to ensure effectiveness during all phases of an IDO.

You should now be familiar with:

  • Challenges, risks and protective measures for the safety and well-being of the social service workforce in COVID-19 and other IDOs.

  • Key considerations for remote project management, including monitoring of activities.

  • Safe and ethical data collection in IDOs such as COVID-19.

  • Key actions to ensure accessible and effective accountability mechanisms in COVID-19 and other IDOs.

We have the final week of learning coming up!

Looking ahead to Week 6, we will get started by reviewing adaptations to capacity-building efforts that are required to deliver safe and effective child protection programs and services for children in IDOs such as COVID-19. We will end with a focus on coordination and advocacy, looking specifically at the importance of intersectional partnerships and working with governments.

We look forward to celebrating course completion together soon!
