Congratulations on completing week 4 of the Radiation Protection in Dental Practice course.

During this week we have:

  • Covered the outcomes from the radiation risk assessment

  • Looked at what a controlled area is and when one should be designated

  • Discussed what local rules are and why they are necessary

  • Looked at what would happen in the event of an accident or incident involving the X-ray equipment

  • Covered the protocols and procedures required by IRMER17

Next week we will cover the Quality Assurance programme and the types of checks you should carry out to be in compliance with the legislation.
