<v ->Hello, everyone,</v> and welcome to Practise your PTE Academic Speaking Skills. My name is Jose Lara, and I am an English language teacher at Macquarie University. I have over 20 years of teaching experience, and I’ve had the opportunity to teach general English, academic skills and test preparation courses, both in Australia and overseas. And I’m Rose Harvey. I am an experienced English language teacher with over 10 years experience teaching English, academic English and test preparation, both in Australia and abroad. We’re both really excited to welcome you to Practise your PTE Academic Speaking Skills. This course has been designed to help you successfully prepare for the speaking section of PTE Academic.

It will outline the items types you need to answer, the skills and language you need to perform well, and also how your test is assessed. You will also have the opportunity to interact with other course participants and complete practice questions. Most importantly, Practise your PTE Academic Speaking Skills will show you useful tips, strategies and language to help you reach your goal. This will build your confidence in your speaking skills and in taking the speaking section of PTE Academic. Throughout the course, you’ll see four future PTE Academic test takers, practising different item types. Let’s meet them. Hi, I’m Syed. I am from Dhaka, which is the capital city of Bangladesh. I am planning on studying Master’s of Engineering abroad.

I have never taken PTE Academic, and I would like to learn how a computer-based test is structured. Hi, my name is Shaoling. I come from Chengdu in China. I’m taking PTE Academic, because I want to study Master of Finance in Sydney. I want to take the test because the results are available soon. And my friend told me she got the result within 48 hours, which is great. I am Miguel, and I am from Puebla in Mexico. I’m taking PTE Academic as I have applied to study an MBA online and I need to prove my English level. I’ve never taken the test before, and I need to improve my speaking skills so I can get a score that I need.
