Introduction to week 3

Welcome to week 3 video
6.8
Welcome to week three. In this final week we will consolidate what we have learned and address the big question of whether well-being approaches make significant differences to outcomes, policies, and plans. We’ll explore the ways in which organisations can develop learning strategies that are more clearly focused on life as a whole, rather than just changes in resources on specific aspects of people’s lives. Emphasising the importance of collaborative inter-agency learning, we look at how well-being changes learning strategies at local, national, and international levels. The well-being lens, we believe, humanises planning processes by ensuring we all think and talk about how personal experiences and personal goals interact with social institutions and social contexts.

So we’ll be promoting the idea that it is possible, and desirable, to make explicit links between social progress and personal well-being.
This introduction gives you an overview of the final week of the course. In this week we will ask how we can use our knowledge of wellbeing to inform approaches that change the way we develop policies and strategies to achieve better outcomes in organisations, communities and wider society.
