Week 1 summary

Congratulations on completing the first week of this course!

We’ve started to look at the wide range of job opportunities in social care and, hopefully, you now understand the varied nature of the work.

You have learnt that social care is not the same as health care, although social care workers might be called upon to carry out basic tasks, such as administering medication.

You know that the work is regulated and inspected by national organisations, and you’ve heard that there is no such thing as a typical day because every day is different.

If there’s anything you’re unsure about feel free to go back to it again as many times as you like – each step remains open throughout the duration of the course.

Next week we will be looking at the core values of social care work including the Duty of Care and how to prepare for employment in the social care sector.

Gaining your digital credential from City & Guilds
