How have current students prepared for their university interview? Find out by watching this video

So we’ve thought about researching the institution(s) you have your interview(s) at and we’ve thought about skills, but what did students who are now studying at university do to prepare for their interview?

The video above introduces you to some of our current students at York. They have all done at least one university interview and these have been at a range of institutions and for different courses.

These students highlight some really practical things that they did to prepare and some things that you might want to try too if they are appropriate for your course. These could be:

  • Practice questions and mock interviews
  • Recommended reading
  • Personal reflection
  • YouTube videos on interview tips
  • Preparing thoughts on career ambitions
  • Rereading and highlighting your personal statement
  • Ironing out annoying habits (we all have them! Hello fellow people who fidget with their hair!)

Are there any tips you’ve heard from our students that you will use to help you prepare for a university interview? Share them with the community in the discussion below!
