How have other students dealt with feedback?

A video showing current students detailing the feedback they have received from university interviews and what they did with it

To put all you’ve learnt about feedback into context, our current University of York students have shared their feedback experiences with you in the video above.

Most of our students received some kind of corrective feedback and were able to reflect on this and use it going forwards for other interviews. Even if you have been successful at your interview and received no formal feedback, the experience of the interview itself can provide you with some great knowledge for the future.

So, what is the ‘take home’ message here? Above all else, if you have been unsuccessful, ask for feedback, understand what your feedback is telling you and make sure you use it in a positive way to prepare for the next one. The majority of our students in the video weren’t successful at their first interview, but used the experience to build their resilience and to do better at the next one! They are now all studying on a course that is the right fit for them!

What one piece of advice will you take away with you and use when it comes to feedback? Share your thoughts with the community in the discussion below!
