Guillermo Aguirre (m) is a professional Environmental Chemist with 22 years of experience in the mining industry, both as a consultant and in technical and sustainability roles working for mining companies. Currently, he works as Principal of Permitting Performance for the Anglo-American group, where he is responsible for driving a cultural change through the integration of permitting into business planning and work execution. He has extensive experience in the integration of sustainability and permitting aspects into mine planning and developing innovative ways to integrate permitting compliance into extractive operations.

Tommi Kaupilla (m) is a geologist with many years of experience working for the Geological Survey of Finland, where he works since 2001. He currently holds the position of Research Professor of Mine and Industrial Environments at GTK. His research interests and expertise include environmental risk assessments for mining operations and surface water impacts of mining as well as sustainable mining issues.
