Introduction to Week 2

Introduction to Week 2
8.6
Hi there. So we did our opening module and this is our first official module, Module One is entitled Meeting Global Challenges. And in this module, we’ve broken apart what we see as big trends that are coming at us in technology and in science, and in the way the world is working. And we also want you to be able to access your inner space. So we go out big and then we come back and we center ourselves so that we can continue to go out and really look at large topics that can seem very overwhelming. The way we’ve structured it.

As we move through embodiment practices, we look at global trends, we do some mindfulness, we look at technology trends, we end with meditation and then SDGs, that we’re going to be covering in the next part of this module are SDG 13 on Climate Change, SDG 14 Life Below Water and SDG 15, Life on land. So let’s go along and take a big lookout and a real deep look in, as we move through Meeting Global Challenges.

Welcome to week 2, Meeting Global Challenges Part 1. This week you will learn about major global trends in technology.

Obviously, we can’t cover everything you need to know about global trends in one week. However, the “Fourth Industrial Revolution” is a term you will be hearing a lot in the next few years. We encourage you to conduct Internet searches to learn more about it.

Technology is an important part of the new normal, and high-tech firms and businesses of all types have a key role to play in helping society cope with these large scale changes. You will also learn about three key soft skills you need to develop as you move into the next phase of your life: embodiment, mindfulness and meditation. Many of you may already have practices that you do on a regular basis. If you do, please feel free to share those with each other in your discussions.

Next week we will explore the following UN SDGs – SDG 13: Climate Change, SDG 14: Life Below Water, and SDG 15: Life on Land.
