We hope you have enjoyed the course so far! In this final week, you will develop an understanding of specialist, unusual and remote situations and specific patient groups who need safe medical transfer.

By the end of this week you should be able to:

  • Describe the transfer of critically-ill patients with specific medical conditions and different patient demographics, such as neurological injuries, burns, bariatrics, obstetrics and paediatrics
  • Be aware of particular considerations in other specialised transfer situations such as ECMO, infectious diseases and proned patients
  • Adapt practice to meet patients’ needs when transferring in remote and extreme environments
  • Understand the future of transfer medicine as an emerging speciality.

As ever, we welcome you to share your experiences and interact with other learners throughout the week in the comments sections!

We hope you enjoy the week!
