Reflecting my values

A consumer's thought process when choosing between a basic and premium product.

When it comes to buying Ready Meal, I always wonder if, by spending more, I’m actually going to get a better quality meal. This fancy one appears to have all the right language– tomato and red wine Ragu, mature cheddar cheese, British Aberdeen Angus beef. [RECORD SCRATCHES] Sounds a bit like a restaurant menu. But what does that actually mean? Let’s compare it to a cheap one. No red wine Ragu here– looks pretty basic. What’s the difference between Angus beef and regular beef? Does my cheddar really need to be mature? The basic one seems to contain 17% beef as opposed to the expensive one’s 20%. However, the cheap one has half the number of ingredients. And more importantly, it’s half the price.
