FutureLearn Chief Executive named as Reimagine Education Awards 2019 finalist judge

FutureLearn is delighted to announce that Simon Nelson, Chief Executive, has been selected as a finalist judge for the Reimagine Education Awards 2019. Simon will judge alongside global experts in the industry such as Kathy Pugh, Vice President of Education Services at edX, Jenny Bergeron, Director of Educational Research & Evaluation at Harvard University and Wesley Lynch, CEO of Snapplify.

The Reimagine Education awards, nicknamed the ‘Oscars’ of education, celebrates those who have developed outstanding educational initiatives aimed at enhancing student learning and employability. The awards ceremony runs alongside the Reimagine Education Conference which provides delegates a unique opportunity to attend a variety of educational workshops and take part in one-to one meetings with university CIOs, investors and EdTech companies.

Simon commented: “I’m honoured to be part of assessing and spotlighting new approaches to education. The Reimagine Education Awards provides a chance for individuals and groups in the sector to come together to share and celebrate new ideas to improve higher education on a global scale. I’m very much looking forward to reviewing the entries this year and playing a part in uncovering and highlighting some fantastic work in education technology.”

$50,000 in funding is available to the Reimagine Education Global Winners. The winner of the Global Education Award will receive $25,000 in funding while the winner of the Global Tech Award will gain $25,000 in Amazon Web Services credits.

The Reimagine Education Conference will run from 8 to 10 December and the awards ceremony will be held at London’s Queen Elizabeth II Centre on 9 and 10 December.
