The University of Melbourne joins FutureLearn

The UK based social learning platform, FutureLearn, is partnering with the University of Melbourne to offer open online courses to its global audience.

Announcing the new partnership, Professor Gregor Kennedy, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) at the University of Melbourne, said: “We are excited to be joining FutureLearn.  We believe our partnership with MOOC platform FutureLearn will provide opportunities for a new group of learners to experience our high quality educational offerings.”

The establishment of the new partnership will expand the reach of the University’s open online learning programs, which have enjoyed considerable success since the University began its partnership with Coursera five years ago.

Mark Lester, Director of Partnership Development at FutureLearn, warmly welcomed the University of Melbourne. “We are delighted to bring to our global community of learners the opportunity to study together on courses from a world leading university such as the University of Melbourne”.

The University of Melbourne will continue its relationship with Coursera and its partnership with FutureLearn will diversify the University’s open learning platforms, allowing it to continue to offer exemplary online education worldwide.
