FutureLearn Hosts The China-UK Digital Higher Education Dialogue

FutureLearn, the UK’s premier digital learning platform, hosted The China-UK Digital Higher Education Dialogue alongside Tsinghua University, and the Global MOOC and Online Education Alliance on 11 December. 

Ahead of the Global MOOC and Online Education Conference at Queen Mary University of London on 12-13 December, senior leaders from 35 leading higher education institutions across the UK and China convened at the high-profile event to discuss the future of digital higher education and explore potential collaborations in digital and AI-driven higher education. 

During the event, FutureLearn hosted two panel discussions where university leaders and academic experts were invited to delve deeper into the role of AI in education and AI best practices and challenges in higher education as well as explore how to enhance cross-border collaboration in digital education. 

With over 264,800 registered learners from China, 1.77 million visits from China to the platform this year, and existing partnerships with universities such as the Communication University of China and Coventry University, who have run joint degrees in China and set up a joint college together, FutureLearn continues to be instrumental in fostering collaboration between universities in the UK and China.
