  • The essential is to listen. We might not have a best solution but as long as the person can speak out his or her worries and concerns, it is a very good way forward.

  • As a volunteer, I encountered a few occassions. eg. one woman was crying on the train and there was really nothing I can do but bought her a cup of coffee and sandwich. Listening is more crucial than think out a solution to a stranger.

  • A few simple languages such as hello, how are you, thank you etc. spoken in their language can help to comfort the people. The funny pronounciation might make them laugh and divert their attention from the depresssion to something else.

  • Listen and respesct and put ourselves into other people's shoes. We need to use our heart and emotion to warm those vulnerable people regardless of their social status, ethical background. In addtion to follow those rules by ourseleves, we should also advocate to let more people be aware of this.

  • Hi. Everyone. I am an Education Consultant as well as an English teacher, based in Manchester but originally come from Beijing China. I tend to learn the challenging issues in the global education from this course.

  • Since the twentieth century, mankind has created huge productivity and rich social wealth, greatly increasing the level of human consumption. At the same time, this has caused excessive exploitation of resources and the degradation of the global ecological environment, which threatens the survival of human beings. In the 1950s, under the background of economic...

  • In summary, the Chinese government should use its strong international and domestic political and economic strength to suppress the rapid growth of per capita nominal GDP at home and abroad, and strive to control the per capita nominal GDP in US dollars below 10,000 US dollars by 2020. In the international arena, an orderly depreciation of the renminbi against...

  • These two issues show that the per capita GDP is not linearly related to personal living standards and national competitiveness, and the higher the better. • Hi. Everyone. I am Wen Zhang and want to become an IELTS speaking teacher and so I join this course to learn some skills. I am based in Manchester UK.

  • Why is academic writing style important for university study?
Because academic writing is more scientific knowledge and readers are more convinced by the evidence-based statement. It is not like the jokes or casual talks on the newspaper or magazine, the writer needs to pay great priority to the content, resources and analysis.

  • The IELTS writing uses more formal languages than that of magazines or newspapers. It is less formal than the academy writing with no references. But I think it is a good way to start to prepare for the academy writing after enrolling in the university.

  • "analysing questions and issues clearly and precisely" is the key point. I need to understand what the questions are about and then analyze it in a systematic and logic way. To address the issues and then identify the solutions are the decent way to write an academic essay.

  • How do you work out your story? Will you write it down or just create in your mind please?

This articulates how she put up with...
