  • Merci beaucoup et j'espère participer aux prochains cours
    Votre effort est apprécié

  • We can use pictures, highlighted sentences or phrases during training and then incorporate them into the next day or days' training.

  • I used to believe that visual aid when used during teaching was helpful when talking, but thankfully now I will switch off PowerPoint when talking and switch off mouth when presenting images.
I'm eager to test new information during my teaching and training, looking forward to seeing difference when making assessment.

  • Our healthcare memory is full of stories of pleasant and sad tastes.
Pleasant story, when we were students in clarckship training we were very critical in taking history and examining patients this led to shift of diagnosis for many patients, one of them came with vague symptoms he kept visiting clinics, one day we were attending, we ask his permission to...

  • To me trainer express exactly that knowledge can be transferred to practice

  • What attributes do you think an expert trainer should have?
Patience: a trainer has to be patient to continue and keep progress, read, update his knowledge, listen carefully to his colleagues and learners.
Balance: this important in many aspect eg: balance in materials he used when distributing tool like visual auditory ...ect. balance in time distribution....

  • Your efforts greatly appreciated.
To me these where the more touching and helpful sessions: How can you provide effective group learning experiences?
How can trainers bridge the gap between learning and practice?
Why do 'illusions of learning' present a risk?
    Suggestion to be added:
How can we transfer training and assessment from training halls to...

  • I think what can be dangerous issue which may threaten practice and patient safety or even professionalism ,is when learning and training convert from being a tool for development to being a gall for themselves, this lead towards rushing to pilling certifications in the expense of skills and best practice, may be one of the causes the way that routinely...

  • You may find this strange when we were trained on D&C after abortion our boss said when you feel gritty sensation that means you had to stop
One day I& my friend were emptying aubergine too cook it.
We use a tool for that, the scene and the gritty sensation make that of D&C jumped in my mind I asked my friend what this made you remember, she promptly answed D&C

  • Have you evaluated any of your training after some time has passed? What did you find?
I've many experience in evaluating training later
Generally when we select trainees according to their usability of the course event we discover good results( they remember training, they appreciate the benefit and implementation in their practice they sometimes train...

  • I experienced fishbowl excercises during PFA ( psychological first aid) training it was very impressive the trainer then gives instructions demostrating steps then trained applied the steps after 2 or three trial she made group do the exercises without instructions
    It was very helpful.

  • In many training I attended
some instructors requested peer feedback, directed them towards sandwich style, but I don't know why I find it mannered and away from being native and don't take comments as real evaluation.
In the other hand some trainers and teachers use away that I like very much they make every one makes self assessment by repeating what the...

  • Sometimes it's applicable to know your trainees mostly because they where engaged in previous traing we conduct, but many times it's not possible to know the trainees beforehand so make first session for introducing ourselves -trainers and trainees- also the pretest and primary questionnaire give clue about level of knowledge and expectations so during break...

  • Research methodology courses are usually teached masses, but I always discuss with my colleagues if it is spaced it will be better so eg : chapter of introduction( including background, problem statement,
and research question, can be reached then a gap of like 5days given to students during which they practice writing introduction of research they select....

  • As mentioned before training must be linked to practise, I usually stress on this point during training ( this information is crucial when you will practice so take notes for practical points especially when it is about do and don't also draw schematic pictures eg: putting sphygmomanometer (Place the cuff on bare upper arm one inch above the bend of elbow. )...

  • Very impressed, many thanks The golden sentence in this week ( use visual aids for learning purposes not for decoration)
Topic I recommend to be added what to do if you discover that trainees are from different backgrounds.

  • Good knowledge about what you're going to teach or train represents a cornerstone in relieving nerves.
Also when you know the participant backgrounds beforehand you may adapt your content and manner to suit the audience so you're some what relieved when presenting in reality.

  • Sometimes I told difficult persons that I will give them enough opportunity to Express what they want by the end of session then I told the participants that they are free either to attend the discussion or proceed to their break some difficult person appear to be good and have brilliant ideas but not been given chance before and have bad experience with the...

  • If some of trainees are unwilling to participate, sometimes, I first draw their attention that I will come to them next so if they aren't paying attention to what have been learned or practiced this is a chance to do so, then when it come to answer or practice I try to reassure this wouldn't be judgement and ultimately you will practice the right way

  • MCQs if well structured can tell how the trainees critically understand the materials
I have experience of medical school exam consist of MCQs as one part and other type of question when results was observed marks of MCQs and the other types of questions were proportional

  • @REBECCATAYLOR by mentoring during practice

  • Working in the area of Noncommunicable diseases injury and disability. I've been involved in various practical training as trainee then trainer, we really need to manipulate assessments tools for the sake of patient safety. • Images and diagrams are very helpful visual aid in learning classification life cycle ....etc

  • In a disaster management course the trainer uses every nonsofisticated simulation by telling a scenario of a plain about to fall and the trainee are the rescue team they have to triage the population within quarter an hour she set the time start telling the scenario the team has to mention what the will do in a hurry she scattered sweets saying that no time...

  • In safe return traing the out come was trainers are able to implement and supervise safety measures to prevent COVID19 spread in school setting measures were mentioned and practically demonstrated then trainers were tested applying eg: hand washing , face mask wearing ...etc.

  • I have been involved in conversation clarifying the purpose of traing on safe return to school during COVID19 pandemic where,I explained that training of staff rather than students need to elaborate more supervision tools of implementation of safety measure like how they can report compliance how they can supervise concentration and use of disinfectants and...

  • ( Although many people feel a little nervous when they first start training, they find this soon melts away if they provide learning experiences which are active and engaging. If you believe in your subject and like people, you have the basic ingredients required to be a trainer.)
I believe this how experience is built

  • Even if products were and tested, does this hinder incorporating life experience and trainers own flavors when conducting training?

  • Your efforts were great we're thankful

the course content made me arrange the sequence which I'will use when designing and conducting training and new mental models has grown up in my mind especially the points ( speech and image tunnels to know how you put tools in their right position and time.
Gradual and systematic arrangements of knowledge and...

  • This make me think about doing speciality and subspecialty and may also -if I'm correct- think about the patient pathway in health system.
In some instances we find professionals with specialty and subspecialty misdiagnose a case that can be diagnosed just by history or simple clinical exam or simple routine lab test, it come to my mind that can be this be...

  • In teaching intestinal helmenthiasis I devided the presentation into slides containing texts for definitions
Slides containg diagrams for classification and life cycle and slides with pictures demonstrating symptoms, signs and complications

  • Lookig forward to being exposed to technologically enhanced learning and teaching sessions, because I do always think health care provider must be rigorously and vigorously trained before practicing in humanbeing and to reach zero adverse events and iatrogenic complications.
*If asked to upload a PowerPoint presentation and rebadge it as eLearning, I will...

  • I had experienced blended learning when we have ALS course material was send on email for reading then general lecturer was presented then group work was done where videos and demos was presented to each group followed by practical sessions by mentors, then by trainers an online written assessment and practical attend assessment were performed
    Nowadays...

  • Courses need active learning experience
    Research methodology
    Outbreak investigation
    Health education

  • (individualised feedback is facilitated by the use of free text answers marked by a trainer. ) I think some time this method may not assess skill based training properly because some participants may be skillful at practice but not at writing and vice versa.

  • The active learning methods I use that sometimes I present the headline then I ask participants what they expect the details under this headline
Another method I used on safe return training I asked some of the participants to demonstrate hand washing, facemask wear then I demonstrate the appropriate steps and comment on what have been done correctly and...

  • Answer to Q1 Yes better example is your course especially when reading comments and replies of the educators
    Answer to Q2
I would like to discuss ( If we were to take EEG traces (electroencephalogram recordings of brain activity) of everyone in an active training session, we would see more activity in learners’ brains than that of the trainer. This is...

  • After attending ALS and trauma support course where know what know how and show what has happened days later a doctor told me that a road traffic victim was brought to her in a hospital, he was comatose she said I just made a jaw thrust for the patient after which he immediately open his eyes and talked, she was very impressed that she can apply training in...

  • When going through session and videos reading looking and hearing, connecting concepts impression rushed in my mind how mental models can be created and how to benefit from this piece of information in behavior change when working in health promotion aspects and when traing students and practitioners best practices
Thanks a lot for this outstanding flows of...

  • Sometimes trainers may like training because the trainer has a passion when training or tell stories which raise sympathy the trainer may interact just because of passion or sympathy raised by the trainer but in reality they may not recall any practical information which will be use to improve performance

  • I think linking topics together may help working memory

  • Sometimes I distributed the session between audience and tell them that at any time Imay ask any one to demonstrate his part in a manner that can be imagined by the other to lessen the overload in case of heavy over crowded materials.

  • Hands on training is crucial

  • It raises the question that does every good clinician or practitioner can be a good teacher or trainer?

  • I always try to make informations that I gave to students to be in form of being taught by asking about conditions that you met eg: when teaching maternal and neonatal mortality I ask questions like : what was the last time you passed through pregnant woman or newly delivered mother, most of the answers ( very recent) the next question do you think as a...

  • Telling about my experience when I examined the final year medical students on their thesis I discovered that there was a gap of 2 years between the research methodology course and the period when the conduct their researches , that was clear when I ask some practical questions when discussing methodology. I noticed that the students get worried because they...

  • I always advise practicing doctors ( tackle patients complains seriously and don't refer without fully history and thorough examination

  • All may be the best choice but life and social interactions are contnious learning setting, We can say it is compulsory learning if you leave educatio al settings or work place you have to learn from life which is continuous, interactive, having multiple tools for teaching, evaluation and crediting.

  • Hi
Thank you for this valuable opportunity, looking forward to having interactive experience, since I'm a community physician, who worked at the level of health system where training has to be considered as cornerstone. Moreover, working as assistant professor at medical colleges necessitates such courses

  • Thanks a lot for valuable information we gained in week one. Looking forward to more interesting and exciting inputs from both of the instructors and learners

  • Suad Eltahir made a comment

Inversion occured in Sudan long time ago but efforts of reform has affected to some extent changes have happened
PHC expansion project, family medicine and their role in providing quality services have improved the situation a little
But still some conditions are tackled only at secondary level like injury even the minor ones

  • Three dimensions are important but if a matter of limited choice faced by policy maker Ithink they will choose population to avoid issues of inequity

  • I think it is like a vicious circle that the poor are vulnerable to bad health which in turn lead to impoverishment
In this situation special attention has to be paid to those groups when planning health financing and prioritization

  • In Sudan PHC era started early in1960 which even included home services by health visitors for MCH, public health officers monitoring home environment taking samples providing health education health cadres specially doctors were rotating all over Sudan providing quality services with v. • Promising introduction, valuable glossary

  • Hello, thank you for this valuable opportunity
As community medicine professional working in federal ministry of health in a very complicated and challenging setting
I expect to pick key concepts and planning methods that can help in health system strengthening in my beloved country Sudan

  • Some families think it's good to offer the needs of their children because the are their right other families think think children must bear responsibilities so the grow as mature enough to face life difficulties

  • Many issues seems to be important .
    1. Are parents willing to offer good enough care?
    2. Do parents know are the needs of their children ?
    3. Do parents know what good enough care is?
4.Are parents skilled enough to offer good enough care?
    4. Are parents willing to offer more than good enough care so as to reach perfectionism?

  • Agree to the list in addition less of child friendly environment ie: unsafe, no minimal means of joy( no toys) or even no time for joy bcz of child labour.
You mention loss of parental care I've seen children who are responsible of their parents care because of severe illness and /or physical and mental disabilities

  • Vulnerability and being at risk as I understand is related to a situation or situations that made someone prone or exposed to disorders in any aspect that may spoil quality of life and one's satisfaction

  • In my thinking good parenting may be related to interaction of subjects and objective matters, those in turn influenced by cultural, social and to extent economical factors

  • Hi, Iam community medicine physician worked as focal person injury violence and disability MoH Sudan
    Interested in child affairs

  • Hello, thanks for this valuable course so interested in child issues

  • Most of the time dealing with child illness especially fever susbecting viral infections rather than bacterial I prescribe home remedies and reasure the parents

  • Ethical issues has to be raised here bcz some practitioners especially at private facilities are rushing to patient satisfaction through prescribing fast and effective antibiotics without paying attention to his role in aggregating and complicating the crisis

  • In case of LMIC I think we need to think about issues like availability affordability and cost effectiveness of diagnostic tools which can be used, bcz one of the major causes of inappropriate use of antibiotics is either absence of services or absence of affordablity for the service the matter that may hinder any progress towards achieving tangible success

  • Interesting ....waiting the answer

  • The practical hint what to prescribe and what not to prescribe
