That was my previous suggestion for an update. Didn’t see it coming in the next step. Thank you!

  • Thank you for the course, helped a lot in many areas of the pandemic. I would only suggest (as the pandemic is still there and under lots of investigations and studies from lots of different sources) maybe to update us on any news or articles that has been published after the course has started.
Other than than that it’s amazing and rapid efforts, thank you.

  • I think it’s a good point. But as I read about testing, most of the people getting tested are the people who show symptoms or people who are already admitted to hospitals. Also, considering that at most of the countries people are paying for the test, and why would someone who doesn’t show any symptoms pay and get tested. I think at this time where there is a...

  • I think there is a proportion of people wouldn’t test themselves out of fear and guilt that they might have already infected someone. And as the reports say that children are less likely to show any symptoms, that could also accounts for many un-reported cases. Which can also be dangerous. In children cases, the virus might not affect them severely now, but I...

  • Where I live, the highest rate of cases are happening in the hospital and most of them are medical staff. I think there is a huge lack of knowledge and negligence among the medical personnel. Plus we have a huge population of old people who are being taken care by young people that might be going out to bring the essentials but might be spreading the disease...

  • I have been staying at home 3 weeks before they announce the pandemic as I am pregnant. We have a lockdown now and still can see lots of people are not following the lockdown or the guidelines. I had discussions with people who still believe that this is not real just because they didn’t get the virus of no one around them had.
    With all the social distancing,...

  • During lockdown there might be less access for people to mental care facilities or drugs. I think the best way is to have an emergency plan for these situations like developing a communication way to keep tracking people in need and updating the medical care personnel.. etc things that can help the people in need to cope with the new situation. Also having an...

  • The incubation period plays a huge part in detecting a disease. For diseases that can be asymptomatic it can be tricky to get detected with the syndromic screening method. It can still help with the containment of the disease but with a low percentage. The missing portion of people that can be missed might be the main reason of spreading the disease in other...

  • The advantages are, more international management over the outbreak can take place to help reducing RO and second attack rate. People will feel that it is real and need to take maximum measures to make sure that they are containing the disease (community engagement). And one important thing, is for people to rethink about their health, medical staff and...

  • I try to dig down whatever I read on social media, especially the popular newspapers as they have lots of followers that trust them. Every time I read article I keep going back to the source until I get the original one that I can rely on, in the case on COVID-19 WHO or CDC. Or scientific publication on well known magazines like Nature. As a geneticist I feel...

  • It won’t be the same as RO depends on the contact among the population. Increasing the distance between individuals definitely help reducing RO. And since urban areas have higher population than rural areas, it definitely play an important role on the estimation of RO. @AnnaSeale
