My maternal great granfather worked so many years in what is now Sri Lanka and brought back some small carved wooden objects which my grandma ( born in 1899) had on proud display in her front room . I always found them fascinating and " exotic " as a child .

As a child (60 plus years ago ) , my family lived near Hampton Court , and our family would go to services at Hampton Court especially around Christmas .Walking through the corridors to the chapel Royal at night was a very weird, and unforgettable experience ...... many ghosts nearby ......I have never forgotten it !
