    The image of the feathers coming out of the sedan chair makes a good point .....how impractical may " fashions " are . The high class lady could afford to be carried around Bath and she could display her wealth without showing her face .

    These churches are beautiful and will now last for many more hundreds of years thanks to skilfull restoration and repair

  • By replacing only the shingles that could not be saved , the whole history and character of the building was preserved and respected

  • Vi was not aware of these amazing churches before starting this course . I live in Turkey , and there are many famous churches which have been converted over the centuries into mosques

  • As a child (60 plus years ago ) , my family lived near Hampton Court , and our family would go to services at Hampton Court especially around Christmas .Walking through the corridors to the chapel Royal at night was a very weird, and unforgettable experience ...... many ghosts nearby ......I have never forgotten it !
