@TomHanlon contact-details is a class, in css syntax, you will have to place a dot before class name.

i really enjoyed the exercise, the comments helped alot.

Saqib Amin replied to Mishal Alven
i think you are confused by comments, or you are trying to add css in html section, for designing we write code in css section.
Thanks
Saqib Amin -
Saqib Amin replied to Mishal Alven
just replace this code in css section.
h1,h2,h3 {
/*
1. There are three types of heading on the page: h1, h2, h3. They all need centering on the page.
This selector targets them all! On the next line after the comment ends, before the curly brace, write a declaration to set the 'text-align' property of all of them to 'center' */
... -
Saqib Amin replied to Mishal Alven
in css you will it is written h1,h2,h3 { /*
1. There are three ..... and so on so before where braces ends} type below syntax.
text-align:center -

yes @MishalAlven , i am available for help, ask please what problem are you facing
-

wow, i really enjoyed this exercise, and steps were very helpful to know how to write css. i used little bit tricky code to change background color of columns of even rows tr:nth-child(even) {background: lightgrey;}, instead of giving class

@SanaUllah try w3school, just google html examples on w3schools, here you will have lots of examples for html and css and you can write online code to check

@putriaditya , try to complete the task once you have started, this is the best way to learn.

Saqib Amin replied to Maame Akyaa Osei
i would recommend you, that first try above code, and search on internet 'html table', if still you face any difficulty then please ask.
THanks
saqib amin -
Saqib Amin replied to Maame Akyaa Osei
'tr' is for row,
'td' is for column,
one 'tr' has two 'td' means one row has 2 columns,
because we had this requirement "An item and its price should be on the same row, in two different table cells." -
Saqib Amin replied to Maame Akyaa Osei
@MaameAkyaaOsei paste this code please,
<h3>Menu</h3>

<td>Albondigas (Meatballs)</td>
<td>£2.25</td>

<tr>
<td>Patatas Bravas (Potatoes)</td>

i like blockly, it is very easy to start logic building by these types of game, rather than teaching someone directly how to code, by these examples we can learn how to program by applying simple move forward , turn right or left options rather than start worrying how we gonna code. because code initially looks horrible to most of the people.

i will keep this tea making example always in my mind, before going to code in future. it helps me a lot and mind opening.
-
Saqib Amin made a comment
1-Comparison is very appropriate because in programming we solve real world problems with technology & code.
2-understanding the problem,research,planning and testing, we should keep these things in mind when we are going to solve any problem through code. -
Saqib Amin replied to kelly buckley
yeah, that is the point, it also shows that being a software developer, we should always asks questions to customers before starting coding. most of the time we start to think technically how we gonna program it, but firstly we always asks questions about their requirements, and after final analysis we should go for programming.
-
Saqib Amin made a comment
very important points, it really force me to think in broader way, like we should not make one type of tea, we should give options to guest, do they like lemon tea, or normal tea with milk. Do they want sugar, if yes then how many spoons of sugar, do they want strong tea if yes i should put more than one tea bag etc etc. in previous question i just make simple...
-
Saqib Amin made a comment
1- Ask guests what tea they want, "Normal tea with milk, lemon tea or just black tea".
2-Ask about sugar quantity.
3-Ask about tea bag quantity, like he wants normal tea or strong tea.
3-Ask about tea quantity, half cup of full cup.
4-Now start tea making process as per guest wish. let say he said "full cup normal tea with milk and 2 spoon sugar"
5-Add... -
