    Really great course.

  • Work on eliminating biases, be slow in making judgement,.be aware of perception

  • Consultation.

  • I will try to improve on extra effort.

  • To direct a team to accomplish a critical task. It was effective because I showed expert knowledge and gave critical guidance to the team. Made them think and work in groups to come up with their ideas and voice their.opinions.

  • Who you see as a leader says more about you than the leader.

  • You cannot be a leader if you don't have goals

    1. A CEO that I know, he is a visionary doing BIG things , he influences others to think big and believe they can achieve. 2. A mentor that I know, he is a visionary, who has been able to reinvent himself and continue to do big things even after retirement. 3. A boss I know, very courageous , gets things done even when they are unpleasant tasks and leads...

  • Great!

  • Very important points.

  • I've learnt a lot, water sensitive design, nano technology, use of fabric for construction.molds and plasticity of concrete which can help to reduce the amount of concrete used in building. Very practical solutions.

  • Titi Banjo made a comment

No. I don't know anyone who has been affected by flooding but the techniques shared previously would help if executed at the design phase

  • Well said. This technique can help reduce the volume of concrete used in construction and by extension the amount of GHG.

  • Can we have a link to a video showing the process of using fabric and casting with concrete? Is this done insitu or precast? Loads of questions. Interesting!

  • Great

  • I will research more about nano lime. Interesting.

  • substituting clinker with waste materials like blast furnace slag and coal ash. This helps with decarbonization

  • Great!

  • Okay

  • I have learned a lot. The importance of BIM cannot be understated. Designers and contractors should consider sustainability

  • Very insightful. I am learning a lot.

  • BIMHas a lot of benefits for the construction industry

  • Piling back the curtains for more daylight in.

  • I loved the improvisation and the structure for story telling.

  • Titi Banjo made a comment

    Sounds interesting!

  • Looking for real life experiences I have been through to press home a point or connect with someone who can relate to this yet see the bright side or what can come out of it.

  • Yes, I do use story telling, to keep the audience engaged. But I would like to improve and be better skilled.

  • Not able to interact or gauge their reaction or understanding of the presentation. From this advise you can ask people to type answers into Chat box. Or take the time to think about something or try something in their spare time. Try to use direct wording so dialogue should be as if you are talking directly to them as individuals.

  • One of my most challenging experiences was when I was Presenting virtually when I couldn't see the audience to gauge if I was carrying them along sufficiently.

  • Concentrate on a few key points. Be flexible. Prepare with your audience in mind. Anticipate and prepare for questions. Know that it is okay not to know. Improvise when you have to

Having the right processes eliminates waste, reduces learning curve, has controls built in so that the product has a higher chance of being what was designed. They can get it right the first time and adopt LEAN.

Great discussion on embracing quality. The quality plan should be easy to understand and shared with contractors and.the project team at the start of the project. Quality Inductions are crucial. Bench marking and prototypes from inception. Everyone knowing what the end product is going to be inuding those building it. Encouraging free speech from all levels,...

Quality is a culture and influences behavior. Presses, procedures and People impact on Quality. It requires adherence to pre set standards

  • Titi Banjo made a comment

Various means of communication should be improved. Setting 3D as a standard will greatly improve quality outcomes.

  • Weekly brief Quality Tool box talks sessions by quality champions across specialisms and trades is a good idea. We schedule quality Inspections but they need to occur more frequently. On site demonstrations or demonstrations physically or by watching videos are useful.

  • Titi Banjo made a comment

Yes. The PPP approach is a great way to address quality.

  • Focus on Quality Assurance rather than control. Develop and implement Quality plan, bulletin, trainings, feed back system, etc.

Challenge is that time and cost drive decisions with Quality not given first importance.

Yes, the challenges could be typical but not always

Understanding why there is a need to change. And how refusing to change can impact the individual and the business negatively in the long run

  • Titi Banjo made a comment

Leadership has a vital part in championing quality best practice. Without top management's support, it's an uphill task. Législation would help. Continuous training is essential. Sharing the quality plan with contractors would help outcomes. A quality induction from project inception will help to shape quality culture and behaviour.

    People and...

  • The quality induction is a great idea, as well as the bulletins. Doing prototypes is something we do already but enforcement after the prototype is approved needs to be monitored.

Building quality into the design process and Procurement is also important.
Quality assurance and having a quality plan that is user friendly would also be helpful.

  • Titi Banjo made a comment

Cosby and Demings steps address fundamental issues in quality and can impact quality positively.

    Demands steps emphasize teamwork.

I will stress the importance of ending the practice of awarding business on the basis of price tag; instead minimize total cost. This will go a long way in improving quality outcomes.

I can see.myself using these steps...

  • Legislation could help.

  • I think others are further ahead of us. We rate low on the quality spectrum. There is plenty of room for improvement.

  • Regulations need to be reviewed and improved

  • I agree. Continuous training and enforcement will help to improve quality standards

  • I have received training in quality and look for every opportunity to increase knowledge. The information is out there. Implementation, control and development needs to be amplified. Quality training specific to each trade and role needs .

In project management, PMP, certification has to be maintained by achieving a hours of competence development...
