  • Collaboration with those who recognise the needs and understand SE is a good approach to developing a strategy.

The most relevant in Kenya is that there's a difference in political support towards SE strategy development.

In my country, policy making is done the parliament although it is affected by top-down process. The common citizens have much less...

  • The lessons learned

There is a difference if there is political support
Collaborate with those who understand and recognise the needs of social enterprise
There is the value of evidence and data available
It is a useful long-term approach

The government should create conditions that allow social enterprise.

  • I looked at Victoria Australia

    Social enterprises are businesses that:

are led by an economic, social, cultural, or environmental mission consistent with a public or community benefit

  • The government is the biggest player in supporting SEs. They set the budget and shake the market therefore they should

provide access to capital for SEs
    Provide entrepreneurship skills
Market opportunities, stronger working organisations and opportunities
    Social investments
    Recognition of SEs existence.

Kenya needs a lot of energy geared towards woman empowerment. I think when women get empowered in Kenya, we will have an impact economy for a better developed country.
My gender policy is on this link. Kindly have a look at it. https://eu.docworkspace.com/d/sID-D-eKLAYqXp40G

  • Gender inequality is perception that women are of less value and hence given poor treatment and chances in the business sector. They are denied rights to education, healthcare and even political representation. They will be given lesser pay and hence slow progression.
Societies become less cohesion, violence and even crime rates.
    Gender inequality has an...

  • What do you think when you see these numbers? The eyes have it all. Gebder inequality is real and it's happening.

Do they surprise you? Am not surprised at all. Especially for my country Kenya, even though we are fighting gender inequality, I think something needs to be done.

    Why are they so high?
    Because the society is misogynistic.

  • In Kenya , it's a must for a company to have atleast 5% of its employees to be people with disabilities. I have seen some companies consider this policy and they have shown inclusion in terms of disabilities. However, ONLY a few percentile of the business sector consider this policy, others don't.
Inclusion helps the Kenyan society as a whole to achieve it's...

  • In Kenya, people with learning disabilities face some of the steepest levels of unemployment. Most of people with learning disabilities do not have a job. • In Kenya, some of the policies are not that effectively implemented.

  • Laws and regulations. Force business to act and provide social protection.

  • A 32% decrease in unemployment among disabled groups
Support more people with disabilities into the employment sector. I will know when 32% of PWDs have be placed into jobs when I see atleast ³/⁷ people in an organisation are PWDs. Since one out os seven people around the world is disabled.

  • The limitation of policy and business leading the way is that policies cannot be effective when we have the rich doing business at the expense of the poor.

  • Resource use and waste management because it is for the past four years there has been a great effect of this policy in the county governments in Kenya. We have waste management systems in place. Gabbage collection has played a key role in waste management.
