  • Digital means being able to connect to friends and family around the world no matter where I am. It also means a better way of life now that more people can work remotely.

I chose the somewhat confident response. Because while I'm knowledge on the subject I know there's so much more to learn. And that's why I signed up for this course.

  • It would seem that to be an effective human leader not only do we have to learn to lead others to self actualization but ourselves as well.

  • When I meditate on the acronym H.E.R.O. (Hope, Self-Efficacy, Resilience, and Optimism) it strikes me that to be a good leader and role model we have to first become our own H.E.R.O.

  • This is a neverending step by step process, however.

  • To me that's what being a manager or in a role of leadership means. While yes, you know the names of those on your team and under your management. A true leader will take the time to get to know the strengths and weaknesses of others. As well as get to know them on an individual level. This is the sign of true leadership.

  • Thank you

  • I feel like by taking this class I have learned to strengthen the factors that I was already strong in and to lessen the parts in which I was lacking (hopefully).

  • I learned that data protection is just as important as the gathering of the data itself.

  • It's ok for business to have certain information. But they need to keep this information safe and secure for the privacy of others.

  • I enjoyed learning about the recipe for success, pie (Participation Information and Enthusiasm). Good communication is also a critical component in the success of a business.

  • People are important to the success of a business because without people there's no business.

  • I'm very interested in learning about tax avoidance as it applies in business

  • I found the information on negative and positive cash flow very interesting. I never thought about money in that manner before. I can definitely use that in my business when I make a purchase that may effect the profit of my business later on. I'm interested in learning more about equity and debt.

  • Cash flow is easy to remember because a river flows. So, just like water moves that is what money does in the business. Profit is the amount you get after you add up your money that you have made and then subtract any bills, wages, or other expenses.

  • I was surprised at how high my score was in showing concern for people. I always thought I was more task oriented. But I learned how much I care about my employees. Maybe the reason tasks get done under my management is the satisfaction level of my employees because I am concerned about them.

  • I have P 13 & T 3.

  • It's important to know yourself, because only through knowing yourself can you better assist others that you are leading in a managerial position.

  • I have been a member of management in other businesses such as a call center and also a grocery store. Since 2009 I have my own business in the Market Research field.

  • Business is an economic stimulus to help individuals, the economy, and even a city or a country. I own my own business and I want to learn how to use it to help not only my family but maybe even others in the community or globally.

  • My name is Wymanette and I live in Bogotá Colombia. One of my jobs is to review books for authors before the book has been published. I was drawn to this course because I wanted to know the motivation that moved William Wordsworth and his writing.

  • Wymanette Castaneda made a comment

I've heard of William Wordsworth but I would love to learn more about him and his works. Words have power and I want to learn more about this historical poet and writer.

  • Brand loyalty is very much attached to lifestyle, emotion, and perception. Track and measure these very tangible things and you will be able to measure the intangible elements of a particular brand.

  • James made a very interesting comment when he discussed knowing "What your why is." That one statement dictates how he interacts with other employees and businesses. It also dictates decisions on how the brand moves forward in the future.

  • Thank you for sharing this information.

  • Thank you for this thought provoking information.

  • I think that Pepsi had a great impact as far as commercial impact with their slogan: Pepsi The Choice of a New Generation (1984-1991). Through their commercials they managed to convey that Pepsi drinkers were special and gifted. They used performers like Michael Jackson to appeal to the need to belong or be part of the "in" crowd. Somehow a nobody could be a...

  • A brand that I would add is Nike. I like the brand because of their slogan: Just Do It. I think this is encouraging because sometimes a person has a goal but they let self doubt get in the way. I think the common link between the people and the brand they chose is how it makes them feel. If a brand makes them feel beautiful, or promotes a lifestyle choice they...

    Awesome!

  • I'm enjoyed these course so much. I hope to be able to take more classes like this.

  • Even though it may be hard to hear, Ali does need to work on speaking out more. I would encourage her to practice with a friend or family member at home and then she will be more comfortable speaking up during work meetings. Even though she may be uncomfortable doing so. Sometimes, success is right on the other side of fear (meaning we may have to do something...

  • Yes, my mind has been changed. The most important approach that I have learned is LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN. Reflect on what I have heard. And then LISTEN some more.

  • Sometimes less is more. Sometimes it's better to speak less and listen a lot more. Also the advice about using I statements and taking responsibility for my reactions in a situation is invaluable. A softer and less accusatory tone can get us through a difficult conversation.

  • Wymanette Castaneda made a comment

Thank you! I'm learning so much.

  • My view of the way I communicate has changed. I want to be more present in the moment and listen when speaking face to face. My new goal is providing more feedback during Zoom meetings when questions are asked or raised. I definitely need to participate more.

  • I would find these opportunities very exciting. It would be a little scary to speak before 250 people, but it's a challenge that I welcome. I'm an admin on a Facebook business page and a blogger, so I'm good at written communication and posting to social media.

  • I was thinking that she could hold communicate through video conferencing such as Zoom meetings. Then she would be communicating "face to face" with more than one person. And this would strengthen her communication skills for when she's in an in person situation.

  • No, I agree with the handling of each case. I feel better equipped and more cognizant of using different forms of communication and communication platforms.

  • It's obvious that you would speak to someone you know differently from someone you don't know or that you speak to a child differently from an adult. I guess I never thought about the effectiveness of business communication via email versus another platform. But in the three case studies presented it's enlightening to see how different the results can be based...

  • This is an example of all four forms of communication. Because I would use intercompany emails to announce to the tutors the new changes. Then further information can be given via Video Chats such as Zoom to ensure everyone is on the same page and answer any questions. For current clients information can be given via Social Communication such as WhatsApp...

  • I prefer communicating through social communication like WhatsApp, Social Media, and Video Chating such as through Zoom. These methods allow people and businesses to communicate on a more global scale. As long as you have access to the internet the world is literally right at your fingertips.

  • After looking at the Professor Pierre Casse self-assessment I understand the quote "To thine own self be true," much better.

  • Now I have to ask myself: What is my truth?

  • Although at times I have overlapping styles, I seem to communicate most effectively one-on-one. And I work better alone.

  • Hi, my name is Wymanette and I live in Bogotà, Colombia. I'm taking this course so that I can learn to be a better communicator both in the workplace and out.

  • These are great, thank you for providing this information.

  • When I looked at this feature I was very impressed. This can really help a small business. It helps inspire confidence in the business and promote growth just by providing this information.

  • I'm an admin on a Facebook business page but thank you for this easy to follow how to guide.

  • That is very useful information for a business to access in thinking about their individual clientele.

  • I'm in a Facebook group called Moon Joggers. They are a group that promotes health through running (or walking). They also sell medals for different virtual races that members participate in. It's a very encouraging Facebook group.

  • Thank you for this information. I wasn't aware of all the features that Facebook has to offer.

  • I really appreciate the Netflix and Disney platforms. They provide captions for those that might have a hearing impairment and allow for the adjustment of the letters for those who may have issues with sight. When you first install the application if provides a brief tutorial to explain how to utilize the platform. These additions make it user friendly for...

  • I'm definitely interested in improving my business and the businesses of others through the use of technological advancement.

  • These course sounds super exciting and I can't wait to get started!

  • Thank you very much for all the information provided in this course. I was pleasantly surprised at the depth and wealth of provided information.

  • My goal in taking this course is/was to learn how to survive and thrive as far as my business and those of others. I'm thankful for the information provided in the ICAF pdf. This is an invaluable tool in helping me to grow my business further

  • I have to be very mindful in my business of Intellectual property rights. Because essentially clients are trusting me in a coupled process exchange to help them grow their business. I have to insure that there's no IP Infringement on the part of myself or others with each individual client.

  • I really enjoyed this course. Thank you very much for all the insights. You don't have to be rich to take care of your money but in the end you will probably come out better financial in the long run because you did.

  • The problem with Artificial intelligence is that they can only analyze statistics and facts from a logical point of view and believe it or not sometimes we still need the human experience.

  • So, following this line of reasoning, Uber would be a disruptive innovation for taxi cab companies. As well as iPhones. Because Apple products only work with other Apple products. This forces the customer to have to switch to all Apple products. Whereas most Android based products interact with other Android products.

  • My business has benefited greatly by partnering with innovative mentors as well as taking the time for education and in turn keeping up to date with new methods and strategies.

  • With my business, I took the core function of providing marketing and promotional services in a presential manner and transformed my business to the adjacent level of the virtual world. For example I am able to provide the same service utilizing social media. Thus my company was able to transform itself with the times when COVID-19 began.

  • Hello, my name is Wymanette Castaneda. I'm in Bogotá, Colombia. I have been an entrepreneur for 12 years and I have recently added Social Media Strategist to my list of services that I provide. My main goal in taking this course is to learn new strategies to help me "survive and thrive" both now and in the future.

  • Hi, my name is Wymanette and I'm in Bogotá, Colombia (although I was born in the United States). I have always been a curious person. I don't want you to tell me that the sky is blue or that grass is green. Instead, I want to know the scientific reasoning behind these things. So, I was drawn to this course because I truly want to know the scientific method...

  • So, the answer in what predicts success is the same as the answer to the age old question of nature versus nurture....

  • I think either the merger option or the greenfield option would be best for this business. It will be crucial to its success to learn how to interact with the culture and society of the new country and that they see personnel hired from said country as valuable assets.

  • I truly enjoyed taking this course and learning more about Emotional Intelligence. The most significant issue(s) for me has been how I deal with conflicts in the workplace and not avoiding situations based solely on the negative or positive feelings that they evoke.

  • I appreciated learning about the correlation between the heart and the mind regarding emotional intelligence. As well as about Soft HRM versus Hard HRM policies on a global scale. I have actually been utilizing Soft HRM policies in my business dealings and didn't realize it!

  • When a person has a flexible body it means that they are able to move their body's muscles through their full range of motion. This leads to better physical health. So, psychological flexibility indicates to me the ability to maneuver the mind through its full range of emotional states and utilize this ability for the betterment of mental health. Which in turn...

  • I'm interested in utilizing Emotional Intelligence At Work to guide my own self development because by improving myself I can be a better asset to my business or company.

  • The whole point of the Soft HRM model is that the organization invests it's time, money, and energy into its employees. Whether this is on a domestic scale or a global scale is irrelevant. By investing in its employees an organization gains the loyalty, trust, and commitment that is crucial to its growth and development. This actually makes the Soft HRM model...

  • I think Soft HRM works best for a business. It's like the old adage that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. You can treat people like dirt and like they are unimportant and the only compensation for their time is their salaries. But think how much more likely you are to see growth and therefore profit when you ensure that the physical,...

  • Hello, my name is Wymanette. I think that some of the biggest challenges in HRM might be the social, cultural, and language barriers between different countries. Even if the same language is spoken, the words might have different meanings. Communicate is very important. We all have to be on the same page to achieve our goals.

  • Someone has to input all the information. So, in that sense, humans wouldn't become obsolete. However, in the grand scheme of things data is the key to finding out more about our target audience. Without people, there is no business.

  • I found it very interesting that diversification can be likened to not putting all your eggs in one basket. This reminds me that one should "not count your chickens before they hatch" as far as realized returns versus expected returns when investing.

  • Even though the concepts presented are explained in an easy way I like being able to work at my own pace so I can review anything that I don't quite understand.

  • This equation actually helps me understand what is meant by having your money make money and work for you.

  • I was thinking that investments are like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Just because you find the end (or complete the term long or short) doesn't always equal profit (nor a pot of gold).

  • So, by delaying gratification or utilizing the time preference for compensation you get more profit in the long term? You're literally compensated for your ability to wait. That's very easy to understand analysis.

  • Color me intrigued!

  • Hallo mijn naam is Wymanette Castañeda. I speak English and Spanish. And hopefully one day Dutch.

  • I'm excited (and a little scared).

  • Wymanette Castaneda made a comment

Hi, I'm Wymanette. I live in Colombia but I'm from the United States. I have friends in the Netherlands and I'm excited to learn to speak their language.

  • I enjoyed learning about the difference between wealth creation and periodic income. At this stage in my life I want to concentrate on periodic wealth such as with real estate.

  • Very informative and simply stated for easy understanding.

  • Derivatives should they be labeled as risk taking or responsible insurance for profit?

  • It brings to mind the proverbial saying "All that glitters is not gold." Or would it be better to say is not profitable?

  • It's a privilege to learn with such an experienced educator.

  • My name is Wymanette. I have been an entrepreneur for 12 years. I'm interested in this course because I want to be able to help both myself and my family to make wise financial decisions and to have a healthy view of money.

  • I'm excited to learn more about managing money. I appreciate the fact that it was mentioned that "you don't have to be rich in order to manage your wealth." Especially since there are different ways to measure wealth.

  • "Health is wealth" so learning to take good care of your health financially is just as important as taking care of your physical health.

  • It would appear that the success of Human Resources rests on the success of all its parts as a whole.

  • The map didn't seem to like me very much. I'm Wymanette and I'm in Bogotà Colombia.

  • I'm Wymanette and my degree is in Social Psychology. As society learns to navigate in an ever changing world, now more than ever I see the need to help children cope with what's going on around them. And I have always been of the mindset that within each adult still lives a small child.

  • The first rule of marketing is listening to your customers! Only by listening and engaging with the target audience will brands know how best to serve them. I have seen a number of examples of brands engaging with customers on Facebook, LinkedIn, as well as Twitter.

  • I observed the Revlon Makeup company posting on TikTok (which is a newer platform than those mentioned in the video).

  • I recently became a Content Writer for a company and I have been asked to manage their social media. So, I wanted to learn more about social media management as well as social media management tools.

  • What made you decide that the best way to reach your target audience was through audio storytelling?

  • To me the written text was more powerful. Words have power and I felt like I was able to visualize the scene better while reading it then listening.
