  • I always had a dream to be a fighter pilot. Unfortunately, due to specs during early age, not able to crack the fitness test. Then, I chose Information Technology as the core area of my study during my undergrad and on completion joined the IT industry as a Software Engineer. Slowly and gradually I moved from one role to another and became Project Manager. Now...

  • Thanks for the references. Well, grabbed a good amount of knowledge indeed !!

  • Being a Project Manager, I always practice different methodologies as each n every project has its own attributes. I practice the same for Team Management also. I have different styles to manage different situations. But I always prefer to follow Theory 'Y" unless n until situation demands Theory 'X'.

  • All the four factors are the Key !!

  • Good delegation reflects how better you understand your team members. Delegating a task is not easy; before delegating a task you must be sure of the Delegatee's potential to complete the task.

  • Carla's theory can be useful if things are really in bad shape at the initial stage when she joined. But she should eventually jump to 'Y Theory' as soon as she start getting things right.

    Another great week...thanks Robert :)

  • Each and every day we are changing as a human being, changing as a consumer, changing as an owner. Hence, the only way a brand can sustain is adaptability. A brand can create positive social and commercial impact only when it fulfills the user need in an honest way where no irregularities involved. A consumer can easily ensure whether a brand is good/bad...

  • Well said...I am second your thought

  • Being a ex-employee of John Lewis, I would like to request you to elaborate the social values of John Lewis / Waitrose...

  • To me Nescafe has the greatest commercial impact and Facebook has the social impact. To me, it's Google who has achieved both.

  • I second

  • Now it's audible, the tie example is really good....

  • Unfortunately my internet connection today is really slow and I hardly heard the audio. @ Robert, please ensure you upload a transcript with every audio. Thanks.

  • Now as we know that positive social impact can drive commercial value – in the short-term and long-term, one question arise, how many companies can invest towards social values....

  • I second your thought

  • The question mark is for you..means what's your opinion....

  • Now, we got to know how brands make money, or to be more precise, increase commercial value. To my understanding, the long term effect is more stronger to increase and sustain the commercial value?

  • A good synopsis...

  • It is indeed an interesting flow of information. After going through the five versions of brand, now we know that the concept of branding is ever-changing. Now, what next.... would brand be the driving force to control human mind in near future??

  • To me so far in my own words... Brand is what you think about something, on which you can rely on, with which you feel connected.

  • What you do is more important than what you say ... do you really agree with all the points covered. I mostly agree with the overall ideas except the third one.

  • I loved it the way they made this video, excellent delivery of information.

  • I like the way Debbie said that 'all had a different definition of branding and of what it means to be a brand' and 'Branding demonstrates the sense of belonging'.
I think that a lot of people don't have their own clear idea about what brand management and brand building is all about. It is about being a single-minded organisation with a strong brand culture...

  • I second your thought

  • Thanks Robert. This is really an illustrative definition. A brand is the idea or image of a specific product or service that consumers connect with, by identifying the name, logo, slogan, or design of the company who owns the idea or image. Branding is when that idea or image is marketed so that it is recognizable by more and more people, and identified with a...

  • Hello Robert

Let me tell you that I have a planning to setup something new in the educational sector. I hope that this programme will act as a driving force to research further to enable myself for creating a new iconic educational brand.

  • Brands are something what you think about something or someone. It is something what stands for like, if we are thinking about an IT giant then then the name first will come in mind is Microsoft. If I am thinking about Bollywood, then I will think about Amitabh Bacchan. Now, this is a kind of psychological thing..it usually varies from man to man according to...

  • Hello everyone! I am from Kolkata, India. I am here to understand the story of branding.

  • Hello Robert

This is indeed an exceptional platform where we can enhance our skills through sharing our viewpoints. I am basically from Kolkata, India and am here to get an end to end idea about branding. This is an interesting area of study and hopefully only after the end of this programme I can evaluate what I can do with branding....

    Thanks indeed...

  • Indeed, this is really a good platform where we can share our experiences, knowledge.

  • I am here to know the end to end process behind the Brand Management. Could you please share your views on how brands are created/designed.

  • I am partly agree with you Rishab. Yes, you are right that there are certain people who really don't know why they are using it but as per my understanding Branding is something whom you rely, who will force you to use their products. Everyone is using brand in their daily life. For example, when you buy a toothpaste for yourself you always rely on a brand...
