Children can easily absorb more than one sound system. My son is bilingual (French-English). He grew up with two very different languages and never got confused. As a result he has a perfect accent in both languages.

Some aspects of meanings can be lost during a translation, particularly when the text refers to cultural matters alien to a different country.

England is my adoptive country, i have lived in the Midlands for 40 years and is perceived to speak with a local accent at times though I am french. I have a foreign accent when i speak English and an english accent (I am told ) when I speak to native french speakers. Our minds inevitably absorb the sounds of the country we live in.
