Many thanks for your advice Alex as not having an up-to-date back up makes me feel very exposed. I will investigate which service providers offer encryption.

This is probably my preferred option - as my external hard drive recently died - but I haven't done it yet as I am concerned about data security if I do. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on this issue?

A full version of the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 can be found at http://www.pdp.gov.my/images/LAWS_OF_MALAYSIA_PDPA.pdf. It's heavy reading - and lengthy - so a useful guide can be found at http://www.pwc.com/my/en/services/what-is-pdpa.jhtml. Overall it does not seem to differ materially from the UK Act.

I wasn't aware of this until I read John's comment, which made me check my Chrome settings. It seems is the default setting.

Question 9b only allows one answer when in practice many of us have experienced several different kinds of attack over the years. Selecting only one gives a wrong impression.
