  • Agree with you

  • In my daily life activity I meet people of different characters in communication.... the best way for me to understand and pass a message is to be flexible and if I don't have a enough time to listen to you I apologise reschedule for us to talk more about whatsoever you want to talk about.

• First they build communication relationship and create room for sharing options and best way to get the work done....Alex is people-oriented and Lin is content-oriented

  • Clear and infective communication is key the key to every well organized projects or events....I understand that Claire and Min li are find it difficult to communicate because of individual difference and too personal reasons...as a team leader you have to balance action and people-oriented communication style to pass a message.

  • My communication style are people, time and action...I am flexible when communicating with people.... challenge might be language barrier or assumption.

  • Yes I agree with you

  • Action: 16
    Content: 14
    People: 20
    Time: 16

  • i am a listening type...and make a valuable contribution on what i know best, so, for better understanding of each other create room for expression then filter the key words of interest....and when is not important you apply Swahili proverb.

  • don't make assumption ask for clarification and apply A's framework

  • A's framework are excellent.

  • 1 case.
He did not create room for brainstorming between the team members....he seems to know a lot so they gave him the silences....for the team to function well their most be individuals input, ideas sharing to carry everyone along.

    2 case.
in Nigeria we call such people "over sabi or i too no" people like these trying to outshine everyone in the team...

  • meeting someone for the first time should be about building trust, learning about where the person is coming from and how the person understand things....these will foster the relationship with your colleagues or whomsoever you meeting for the first time.

  • For what i understand both did not know more about each other, but trying to communicate professionally.....which i believe with time they will get to value each other differences.

  • I apply three of them where is necessary....for instead meeting someone for the first time...i do more of listening and ask question than arguing or assuming.

i get to understand that for you to blend-in in any society...you have to somehow pick interest in what they are doing e.g language, way of culture, food, and maybe clothes...

  • knowledge: be knowledgeable about ones culture, ways of lives and believe, Skills: be respective in communicating (communication skills) and Attitude: be open to learn about someone culture...have good attitude towards people you are meeting or learn for the first time.

  • wonderful experience so far

  • I agreed with @Yaelle Souza words...''To meet a person, both of you have to eat a kilo of salt". Living together opens our eyes to certain aspects of each other's personality that we hadn't seen before. That's why it's important to search for qualities, because it's much easier to point out human’s faults and make stereotypes. Time reveals who people are and...

  • first time to hear about LENS...but by going through the note , i understand that we should not work on assumption....rather than ask for clarification.

  • Yes. You're welcome

  • @KathleenVaughan Ok. In most cases i do more of listing than reacting...giving her the satisfaction of been right at that moment...then point out the right ways as form of suggestions without making her feel wrong...while she's.

  • 1. “It is not our differences that separate us. It is the denial of the beauty and rightness of those differences that separate us.”
    ― Razel Jones, Wounds.
The world would be better place if only we take a moment to understand the beauty of togetherness and forgetting biases..... doing the right thing no matter how much it will cost us.....

  • Lack of communication and no follow up...she works base on assumption...

  • In situations like this I always remained calm...to analyse your actions, if can't find out why you reacted that way...I do approach you to know the better way to do or saying it without been offensive...and if I am at the receiving end...i do express my unsatisfactory, and let you know the best way to do things.

  • Getting to know people is the best way to clear biases...

  • Most often we are a reflection of other people actions or decisions.... consciously unconsciously.

Conformity bias; we are influenced by the opinions and perceptions of those around you, and we act similar to them without even knowing. Just as the example given, we tend to give to charity or act in environmentally conscious ways when we see others do the...

  • the way to challenge that...is to learn about people around....find out more information, get fact not assumption....learn more why the behave the wat they do.....if is the way of their culture respect it...or find better way to do the same thing without offending them.....respect each other opinions.

  • @DenisGama I agree with you

  • We pick Job and nationality, they all shape me in different ways...job help me to keep a professional life, time management, set a goals so also nationality meeting people from different backgrounds help me to understand the way to things differently from own ways

  • I understand that we have things in common but in different ways of understanding...this task making me understand that we all need to learn and understand each other in way of communication...

  • Personally it change me a lot, less take technology for instance, before now my knowledge about the world is very limited... living in the world without first-hand knowledge has negative infect in exposure, but with coming of advance technology, I can connect with everyone around the world, read, research, make friends and here British council....connecting us...
