  • That was an educative one

  • I know every country has land use laws which protect the land and also regulate operation in extractive industry. My question is, what happens to those operators in extractive industry when they go against the rules and regulation? I know quite well that in some developing countries where corruption is the order of the day, people violate rule and go free

  • Quite interesting

  • Land use laws are in place to protect the land from being destroyed by those who are in business of extraction of natural resources

  • In Nigeria we have land use act which is act of parliamentary on land use. Anything done which is not in line with act is an abuse of kaw

  • Quite an interesting one

  • Thank you so much, Prof. The Prof provided a clear depict of what anti corruption is all about

  • The level of corruption in extractive sector in Nigeria is very alarming. Destroying artisanal oil refineries in Niger Delta, Nigeria, is not the solution. I think, there's a need to bring them together, under one umbrella and legalize artisanal oil refineries. Once that is done, they will assist in checkmating the illegal activities of artisanal oil refinishing

  • Corruption in extractive sector in Nigeria is seriously effecting the revenue that comes to the Nigerian State. Even the government officials, military and communities are involved in the unreasonable corruption taking place in extractive sector. The agencies vested with great responsibilities to fight corruption have shown political laxity in the fight...

  • The strategy is not only applicable in health sector in developing Countries. It can as well be applied in other sectors

  • In some developing Countries (especially Nigeria) the laws are made for the poor and not for the rich

  • There no corrupt free nation in the world. But there are endemic and prevalence corruption in developing Countries. This as a result of absence of democratic values such as rule of law, transparency and reliable judicial system

  • That's quite interesting

  • The power, capabilities and interests approach to anti corruption were extensively explained in a very eloquent manner

  • Productive sector does not centre on manufacturing alone. It cut across sectors that add values and the people are willing to pay

  • The Prof extensively explained it in a very eloquent manner

  • In Nigeria where we have freedom of information law, which has not being fully operational because of the corrupt politicians who makes efforts to ensure that rule of law does not prevail couple with corrupt judicial system and corrupt judges at all levels of courts who perverse judgements and aid corrupt politicians

  • Completely agreed withe Professor. You see, corruption has eaten deep in African Countries. Especially Nigeria. Dilapidated infrastructures, weak medical system, hight poverty rate etc. are as a result of corruption in Nigeria. And is also one the fundamental causes of political and ethnic aggiitation in Nigeria

  • It was a very interesting course week.

  • Environmental changes which is as a result of climate change has contributed deeply to conflict in our world today. If we can deal with issue of climate change, conflict will be reduced to lowest minimum

  • It being a very interesting course week

  • I actually gained a lot from this

  • In South South Nigeria where we have larger chunk of crude oil deposited. The struggle for resource control has created conflict in that region

  • Environment has devastated as a result of war. In fact, the atomic bomb dropped in two cities in Japan by USA in 1945 still has effect on the ecosystem in those cities till date

  • Truly, people needs natural resources to survive. That is the reason why we must use these resources in a way thes resources will not degenerate, but regenerate

  • Very interesting one

  • There is no gainsaying that conflict over water will definitely increase due to climate change

  • Seventy percent of the earth is covered by water. One will ake, why then scholars predict that in the future water will be one of the cause of conflict. This as a result of global warming which leads to climate change which affects physical environment such as water, man vegetation and animal

  • Very interesting questions

  • The issue fossil fuel has become a global concern. Omission in any part of the world affect the rest of the world

  • Nice one

  • Am good to go

  • Wow! That was a very interesting one

  • That was very fantastic

  • Nice one

  • Nice one

  • In fact, it was a very interesting course. I actually gained a lot from the first week course

  • When the people who make rules don't adhere to it, it will pave the way for corruption to thrive. And that is the case in African countries

  • Third world countries have too many rule that are being adhere to

  • Rule of law is not being adhere to by many countries. Especially in Africa

  • No culture in the world that encourages corruption. You see, relative deprivation, distributive injustice etc are some of the reasons corruption thrives in third world countries

  • There is strong collusion between the bureaucrats and politicians in corruption. The bureaucrats have the information and releases the information to politicians

  • The pervasive corruption in third world countries is induced by the Western Countries. Why do I say so? If the third world countries don't have anywhere to take resources of their Countries to, corruption will be reduced to the minimum level. As long as the western Countries leaves their Countries open for corrupt politicians and elites in third world...
