Coventry University program

Principles of Physical Health Assessment

Explore the aspects of a consultation and the skills required to assess the health of a patient.

This program is part of the MSc Nursing degree offered by Coventry University

Explore the role of the nurse in physical health assessment

One may argue, that since the shortage of doctors became apparent, the need for nurses to extend their role into the assessment of health is now higher than ever. This program explores the respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal and integumentary systems.

You will consider the differences in the examination and findings in a child, and touch upon mental health considerations.

You will be presented with principles of health assessment aimed at preventing conditions going undiagnosed, leading to progression of disease.
