Understand how agile and continuous localization can improve product releases
Localization of a product helps ensure you are effectively targeting customers in a specific market. In this two-week course, you’ll learn how to successfully implement an adaptable and automated localization approach within your organisation.
You’ll discover how to move from end-to-end project timelines, which can delay product releases, and instead use agile and continuous localization processes and technology to deliver quality products on time.
With this knowledge, you can apply better practices and workflows in your organisation.
Unpack agile working methodologies
Delving into agile and continuous development practices, you’ll discover how working in agile ways impacts the release of your localized products.
You’ll start by examining basic working methodology frameworks before exploring the roles within a localization team.
This knowledge will help you understand how to apply agile and continuous development methodologies to enhance your workflow.
Explore work distribution in localization projects
Next, you’ll learn how work is distributed in localization projects.
You’ll understand how localized products can be marked as ‘done’ to help you and your team meet deadlines.
Understand continuous integrations and deployment
Finally, you’ll learn how to compare your old workflows with new models to ensure you can identify the best practices of a well-managed continuous localization project workflow.
With this knowledge, you’ll understand the importance of continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
Guided by the experts at Lokalise Academy, you’ll finish the course with the skills to ensure effective localization using agile and continuous development workflows.
Syllabus

Localization Workflow Fundamentals
Course Overview
Tabea De Wille gives an overview of the course, from the problem statements encountered in localization projects to the solutions you can implement as challenges arise.
Week 1 Introduction
Week 1 is intended to provide an overview and background of localization in an agile or continuous context. It will set the stage for the more advanced topics of Week 2.
Agile Methodologies
Familiarize or refamliarize yourself with the concept of sprints, the short, time-based units that define agile work, along with the iterative approach, and multiple teams involved in agile workflows.
Continuous Development
Here we will learn about continuous development and its associated concepts in the context of a localization project.
Week 1 Conclusion
Here we wrap up Week 1 with a review of the main takeaways and the challenges identified so far.
Week 2
Principles of Transforming your Localization Process
Week 2 Introduction
This week we will look at the processes and technology that offer solutions to the challenges identified in Week 1.
Localization Processes
Localization processes to consider include cost & timing, communication, defining "done," and ownership of localization.
Technology Considerations
This activity covers automation, technology workflows, and integrations in a localization project.
Week 2 and Course Conclusion
Here we wrap up the solutions that we've learned about in Week 2 and offer a hands-on worksheet to work through the pain points related to localization workflows in your organization.
