This course explores how to plan for project success, as well how to define success criteria for your projects.

The course is designed to give you core knowledge around project planning and project management, and that means using your problem-solving skills to handle unexpected challenges.

Using case studies and examples from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), you’ll build your confidence for tackling any issues that may come your way when managing projects at an SME.

Use project planning tools and processes to solve common project challenges

By examining and analysing specific project scenarios, you’ll learn how to identify drivers and obstacles towards a successful project.

The online course “Plan for project success” is designed to give you basic knowledge— —about project, project management, goals and stakeholders. You will also learn about the transition— —when going from making a project plan to project realization. And, most of all, how you can plan for project success.

      To understand what characterize project as a way of working, and why we sometimes organize work as a project.

    • Project management

      Understanding what characterizes project management in different settings and contexts.

    • Project success

      To understand the complexity of project sucess or failure.

    • Reflection

      Reflecting on the course's content for week 1 by interacting with the other course participants.

    The project plan and project planning

    • The project plan

      To have knowledge about what a project plan is and why.

    • Goals, tollgates and stakeholders

      To increase understanding of some aspects of a project plan that relate to project success and failure.

    • Project plan vs. project planning

      To understand the connection between project plan and project planning.

    • Reflection

      Its time to reflect on and recap week 2.
