Food is a basic human right necessary for optimal health and wellbeing. It is important that food is safe, that is, it is free from contaminants and will not cause illness or harm. It is also important to ensure food does not mislead the consumer and they get what they pay for.

This week we will take a closer look at food contaminants, food quality, food fraud and the measures in place to help ensure the integrity of our food system.
