Before we end the course, we would like to draw your attention to the DECIFood: Database for Educators: Choices for Incorporating Food, which directs you to learning resources and tools across a range of food topics.

DECIFood is a free Decision Support Tool for educators developed as part of the EIT Food funded project WeValueFood. This project aims to help improve society’s engagement with food by providing a Pan-European inventory of educational resources and modifying and creating existing and tools/ resources. Further, the project aims to help the food industry learn how to engage with the next generation, as well as create a community of European Food Champions who will share their food values across their peer network. More information about the project can be found here.

DECIFood aims to help educators retrieve various food education tools across Primary, Secondary and Tertiary education streams, by providing information and links to many resources based on various criteria entered by the educator. The DECIFood database has over 350 tools/resources from several countries across Europe: UK, Italy, Israel, Iceland, Finland, Spain and Poland), on a range of food topics. Educators can select their criteria, for example, age of pupils, language, application type and food topic and DECIFood will retrieve the resources that meet the specified criteria. DECIFood was developed by the Institute for Global Food Security at Queen’s University, Belfast (QUB) in close collaboration with colleagues in the Computer Science department (in School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer science) and The Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology at QUB.

We invite you to use DECIFood to help you identify suitable resources, particularly educators who would like extra resources for your class. Please feel free to let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments section.
