Waist to Hip Ratio

Waist to hip ratio indicates where fatty deposits are located. It is a good tool to be used in conjunction with BMI.

The waist hip ratio is calculated by dividing your waist measurement by your hip measurement. The formula is:

WHR= waist circumference / hip circumference

Waist Circumference

Larger waist measurements are a predictor of developing a chronic disease where high levels of visceral fat or intra-abdominal fat are present (i.e. fat stored around the abdominal region).
