Bulk Delete Overview

This activity will introduce us to the Bulk Delete function and discuss the advantages it holds over the Advanced Search function when it comes to removing stale or unneeded data en masse.

Bulk Delete can be accessed via a model-driven app like Dynamics 365, but also via admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com.

It is more efficient than Advanced Find, which has a 250 record limitation. It can also be scheduled to run automatically.

NB There is no undo or roll-back feature with Bulk Delete, so be careful and consider making system back-ups

It can be run off of queries, which you can preview the results of to check that the correct records are being selected before running the delete. Once the delete has run, you can use the ‘Modify Recurrence’ option to set a regular schedule for it to run, or simply delay the job to run at a time that the system is not in use and will not cause undue issues with others working on the system concurrently
