Custom Controls

.
In the previous step, you looked at user access rights and security roles so that you are able to implement rules on business processes effectively.

Steps within business process flows are bound to fields in a Common Data Service for Apps (CDS) entity.

When a step is bound to a field, default visualisations are used for the field type (text boxes, dropdowns, numbers, and so on).

Business process flow steps also support custom controls for rich visualisations in the form of sliders, radial knobs, the LinkedIn control, and more. This feature is only available in the Unified Interface.

Available visualisations are defined by the custom controls installed in the instance and depend on the field type. For example, text fields support masked input control, while number and currency fields support a variety of sliders, knobs, gauges, bars, and other controls.

This feature allows better data visualisations and increases the potential for intuitive and immersive business process flow runtime experiences.
