Topology

.
In the previous step, we watched a video on application target considerations and in this step, we will examine topology. It is necessary to understand the topology of deployments to determine if considerations for monitoring are relevant. You will need to understand the topology for noisy neighbours and of user response and topology and automated deployments.

When you deploy your application, you might have to adjust your monitoring based on how different components of the application are integrated. For instance, if your application uses a messaging service that is deployed separately, you will need to consider monitoring implications for components that communicate with the messaging service.

In cloud computing, when you implement application monitoring, it’s important to recognize that the performance of hosting your application in the cloud might be influenced by factors such as sharing resources, including racks and virtual machines (VMs), for example.
