Welcome to week two! In week one you learned what data analysis is, why it’s so important, and started thinking about what questions we can answer with a data set.
This week we’re going to focus on preparing our data set for analysis by understanding it, ordering, cleaning, and transforming it into the format we need.
We’re going to cover the fundamentals of working efficiently with spreadsheets. We’ll also start processing our data so that we can remove errors, focus on accurate outcomes, and start looking for some answers. Specifically, we’ll cover:
- Working with spreadsheets, saving, backing up, design principles
- Handling data: sorting and filtering
- Cleaning data: using Excel functions and formulae to transform our data set
