Hello and welcome to this course called Demystify Business Models, and that is exactly what we will try to do in this course. We will try to demystify the term and concept of business models, because in the recent years, business model has been used as a buzzword. Almost everywhere. People were using the term like here and there with a lot of different meanings and often without really understanding the real concept behind it.

But when you really start to understand how powerful the business model concept is and how useful it actually is to develop your company or maybe start a new business around an idea, you can really make a difference and you can really start a business or develop your business in a way that will succeed easily against other competitors and will really create value for your customers. And after taking this course, you should be able to both describe and analyze business models. And you should also be able to both know and also use different tools and methods that are connected to business model development.

And what you also should be able to do after this course is to critically reflect about other examples of business models or even about your own business model examples that you know from your surroundings. And this course is planed to take about 10 hours of time to go through all the material and to work with all the exercises and discussions. And it is divided into blocks that are called week one and week two and doing week one. It will be mainly about the basic concepts of the business model, basic tools and also some initial exercises and examples.

And the Week two will then go more into detail about the the different building blocks of the business model, which are based on the definition that, says that business model actually tell you how a business is like, how the value is created, delivered and captured. So that week two will be divided into a value creation, value delivery and value captures and different concepts and tools around this. And in the end, the course will will end with the final quiz to prove your knowledge that you have taken with you from the course. So I wish you all the best during this course and a lot of fun in going through the material.

If you’re getting ready to start your own business or you want to develop the business in a company you’re working at, this course will develop your knowledge of successful entrepreneurship and help you build necessary business development skills.
