Chris discusses the need for all learners (teachers and students) to believe that they can get better and improve in their learning.
Over the next few steps you are going to build on the ideas in Step 1.9 around the importance of the relationship between the teacher and the students in establishing a classroom culture where all are motivated to learn.
In this video Chris introduces the idea of how the teacher is the key agent for providing appropriate support so that all students learn. Chris suggests a number of approaches that you could implement to further develop a classroom culture where everyone believes they are able to achieve and succeed in their learning.
We will explore some of the seminal work undertaken by Carol Dweck around students’ mindsets and motivation in the next steps.
