Watch and read: greeting someone

Watch and/or read about the most common ways to greet each other in Dutch.
How shall we greet each other when arriving and when leaving? On arriving, we have several forms– “Hallo”, “Hoi”, “Dag” “Goedendag”, “Goedemorgen”, “Goedemiddag”, “Goedenavond”.
“Hallo” and “Hoi” are more informal forms. “Dag” is neutral and could be used any time of the day. But the last three forms, one has to match with the time of the moment. On leaving, there’s also a variation– , “Hoi”, “Doei”, “Doeg”. These are informal and used amongst friends. “Dag!”, again, neutral and can be used at any time and everywhere. “Tot ziens” like, see you, but can be used in quite formal occasions, as well. “Tot maandag” “Tot” means until, and then you can make your own variation. And the more neutral and formal forms “Goedendag”. “Goedemorgen”, “Goedemiddag”, “Goedenavond”.
So notice the difference between the formal and informal. The informal forms have variations, differing in region and time, and they’re nearly sung like “Doei”, “Doeidoei”. There’s some forms that can be just on arriving as well as leaving. “Hoi”, “Dag”, “Goedendag”, and specifying the moment, “Goedemorgen”, “Goedemiddag”, “Goedenavond”
