Introducing the discussion over a number of sessions

Learn how to introduce the weight management discussion over a number of sessions
There is no need to rush the discussion. You can return to it over a number of sessions with permission. For example, you can invite the patient to think about whether weight is something they would like to address in their next session or in a separate appointment. If they are open to this you can then check in at their next consultation whether they have thought any more about it, or if they have any questions they would like to ask you.

"Last time we spoke a little about how for some people losing weight can help improve their blood pressure and reduce the need for, or dosage of medication. Is this something you would like to revisit at all today?" “So today we have spoken about some of the other options available to help you manage your diabetes. Between now and your next check-up, please have a think about anything else you would like to discuss together”
